Care Guide
After unboxing
Soak your new plants upside down in room temperature water for 20-40 minutes.
Watering
Air plants enjoy 70-80% humidity with near daily misting. Soak your plants for 20 minutes weekly, or
bi-weekly. If you live somewhere humid, misting might be enough to skip soaking. Make sure your air plants fully dry within 4 hours.
Light
Most air plants enjoy indirect lighting (5–10’ from a window) where you can still see a shadow. Avoid placing your plants in direct sunlight.
Feeding
Use 1/4 tsp bromeliad fertilizer with 1 gallon of spring water (never distilled) to either mist the plants once monthly or as the solution for their monthly soak.

Questions we get asked often
Soak, mist, or both....I'm confused?!
Soaking in spring, pond or tap water left to sit overnight for 20-40 minutes every 2 weeks is good standard practice. However climates with dry air maybe require mistings every few days and homes with higher relative humdity may only need to mist their plants. We see many more plants perish from over-watering so make sure they completely dry after either soaking or misting and ensure their 'home' has good circulation (no closed globes).
My plant is loosing color, what should I do?
While low-light tolerant, air plants thrive in strong indirect light and their colors are best expressed under strong, in-direct lighting conditions.
Why doesn't my plant have a flower?
Our plants sold 'flowering' or 'in flower' have been treated to initiate their flowering cycle (it's science) and will produce their blooms in 4-6 weeks upon arrival. Shipping plants prior to bloom ensures the most home enjoyment and longer lasting blooms (some up to 6 weeks!) Increased home temperature, strong lighting and adequate watering can accelerate this timing while plants in cooler climates may take twice as long to bloom.
What if the bottom of my air plant is brown?
Many species (Juncea, Seleriana, Streptophylla and more) grow on or near terra and a brown hue is not only natural but desired. Do not worry if there is browning on a firm base of Tillandsia, however if soft to the touch it could be over-watered.
Soft core and turning grey/black from the middle?
Unfortunately, the plant has been overwatered and is starting to rot.
